Beach Honeymoon......

One of my favourite wedding planning tasks is planning the Honeymoon.  I don't know if you're the same but I just can't wait until we get to that beach and relax.  There is so much to do before the wedding so for us to do nothing by the beach for a week or two - that's my dream.

We have been searching for lots of honeymoon destinations and these are some of our favourites - let me know if you think the same!

Whatever you do - don't forget to pack the honeymoon essentials from Bridal Tales - this month only we are offering 25% all the honeymoon gifts.  Just enter MOON25 at checkout!

Koh Samui, Thailand

The beautiful island of the coconut trees, is the third largest Thai island (only Phuket & Koh Chang are larger by size).  The area is about 247 square kilometers and is located 700kms south of Bangkok in the Suarat Thani province. Well known beaches are Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Big Buddha, Choeng Mon, Hua Thanon and Maenam. Koh Samui is unique among Thailand’s islands in maintaining a broad appeal to everyone. This helps to give the distinctive relaxed atmosphere that sets it apart.

Maldives

Rising from the deep blue of the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean are more than a thousand islands and thousands more reefs that form the Maldives.

What better place to relax and enjoy yourself than the romantic dunes that adorn these islands. Imagine a place that is nothing but surf and sun; where paradise meets reality. You can choose any of the ninety resorts islands across the Maldives for your honeymoon or holiday stay; allowing yourself the freedom to explore everything is amazing tropical wonderland has to offer. Everything has been designed with the luxury and comfort of travellers in mind, which is why per capita it is the busiest tourist area in the world. Half a million people every year rediscover this paradise.

Hawaii

It's home to one of the world’s most active volcanoes and the world’s tallest sea mountain. Birthplace of surfing and the hula. Former seat of a royal kingdom. Hawaii is one of the youngest geological formations in the world and the youngest state of the union. But perhaps Hawaii’s most unique feature is its Aloha Spirit: the warmth of the people of Hawaii that wonderfully complements the Islands’ perfect temperatures.

There are primarily six major islands to visit in Hawaii: Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii’s Big island. You’ll find each island has its own distinct personality and offers its own adventures, activities, and sightseeing opportunities. We invite you to explore all of Hawaii to find the unique island experience for you.

So which of these places will you visit on your honeymoon?!?!?!

New Hen Do Trends

Hen parties aren't just about strippers and willy straws any more.  Why not leave the L-plates behind and have a do to suit you..... and try these trendy ideas!

If you love outdoors.......................... Glamping!
Fancy a weekend away but don't want to go abroad?  Look local and try a spot of glamping!  Glamping mixes two things that, in theory, shouldn't work but do - glamour and camping.
If you love vintage................. High Tea!
If you announced you were serving tea for your hen five years ago, your friends might have politely declined.  How times have changed!  Now tea parties are in - dress up, drink tea from vintage china, eat finger sandwiches, and have an old-fashioned girly afternoon.

If you love food............... Sushi making!
Want to broaden your culinary reportoire and enjoy a day of fun and games in the kitchen?  For a hen do with a difference try a sushi-making party where you'll not only learn a new skill but get to sample all your creations!

Wedding hair accessories

Now that Ascot fever is booming, I thought writing about wedding hair with a bit of inspirations from Ascot would be a good topic.

There are some wild and wacky hats and facsinators this year at Royal Ascot.  Here are some of the nice and the funny from Ascot!

The nice....

And the funny....

If you have some of the favourites you've seen this week then let me know!

wedding shoes dilemma

Well, I mentioned earlier that I run an online wedding shop Bridal Tales.  But I hadn't mentioned I am also a bride-to-be, well the proposal was 6 months ago.  I will tell the story later though.  Since then we have been very prepared - we found the venue, got the date, found the dress from Farnham Boutique - Amanda Holden bought her wedding dress from them by the way!  We've picked the food and at the moment we are working on the stationery and favours from our own shop of course.

My latest mission was to get the right shoes for my dress.  Honestly, this has not been easy but it had been fun.  I have been shopping with my mother-in-law2b (my mother lives in Thailand and that's where we're getting married by the way) and we've been searching for shoes for months!  I searched on the net, hit the high street and looked through all the wedding magazines.  I know you're probably thinking I'm in the industry I should have good contacts!  Well, I do but not shoes.....  Here are some of my favourites during the search!

And this is the pair I am going for in the end - the ivory matches my dress as well as the pearl and sparks!

I hope this is enough ideas for you searching for wedding shoes for now.  So until next time......
